The Coach Who Took a Dip in Mediocrity: Neal Brown’s Six-Year Sojourn in West Virginia

Alright folks, let’s talk about Neal Brown, the guy who just got kicked to the curb after a rollercoaster six years at West Virginia University. I mean, six years of football, and what do you have to show for it? A glorious 6-6 record! That’s right, folks, half a dozen wins and half a dozen losses. It’s like ordering a dozen donuts and only getting half. Brown, bless his heart, sat down for a chat, full of gratitude and a sprinkle of denial. ‘Nobody died,’ he said, as if losing a football season is just a walk in the park. Come on, Neal, this is college football, not a therapy session!

And let’s dive into his defense, or lack thereof. The Mountaineers were like a sieve, letting points slip through like they were on a first date with a bad decision. Thirteenth out of sixteen teams in points allowed? You’d think they were playing with blindfolds on! Brown took ownership, claiming, ‘We didn’t play well enough.’ No kidding, Sherlock! And then he had the audacity to say they could have been better, as if wishing upon a star could change the scoreboard.

But here’s the kicker, folks: even after being shown the door, Brown’s still rooting for his team. He’s like the ex cheering for their former partner to find someone better while sitting alone with a tub of ice cream. ‘Go play and finish in the right manner,’ he says. Well, Neal, maybe they should have finished in the right manner before you got the boot. It’s a wild world out there in college football, folks, and sometimes, the only thing getting tackled is the coach’s career!
