In a spectacle befitting the grandest of theaters, young Ja’Kobi Lane of the USC Trojans made a catch that could very well be dubbed the catch of the year. With a defender clinging to him like a barnacle to a ship, Lane managed to capture a pass with one hand, turning his body in a most acrobatic fashion, and did so while remaining steadfastly in bounds. Despite this feat of remarkable skill, alas, the Trojans could not secure victory, squandering a lead in the final moments of the contest against Maryland.
